RUSMP Director of Elementary Programs, Carolyn White, facilitated a mathematics symposium for 4th- and 5th-grade students recently at Burrus Elementary School in HISD. Students were posed interesting math problems and collaborated in small groups to find solutions. They were encouraged to use critical thinking and reading skills in order to analyze the problems and shared strategies with one another.
